(More customer reviews)I had a lot of interference problems using the SVAT GX5203, I noticed that as soon as I disconnected my cordless phone (Panasonic 2.4GHz) the problem was solved, moving the receiver and/or the phone to another location did not work, so I had to replace my phone with a newer DECT 6.0 and everything worked just well. The reception range is pretty good and the image quality is a bit under my expectations, sound is clear and the camera seems to be tough enough for outdoor usage. The fact that the batteries need to be removed to plug the AC/DC adapter is beyond my understanding.

WORST EXPERIENCE EVER!I'll never purchase from Spytown (distributor) or COP-USA (manufacturer) ever again.I purchased COP-USA's PH35 door camera through Spytown.The camera was defective out of the box as the lens came apart at the wrong end and 7-8 pieces of the lens assembly fell out.

Spytown had no response to providing an RMA so I could return the camera.6 phone calls, 2 online RMA requests over a 1 week period, no response.

Since I wasn't having any luck with Spytown, I contacted COP-USA directly in hopes of exchanging it since the west coast office is just a few miles from my home.Big mistake!The operator/receptionist stonewalled me telling me I needed to work with my retailer.I asked if I could talk to a technician in hopes he could tell me how to put the lens back together.She connected me to a technician that agreed the lens came apart at the wrong end, and I could stop by to pick up a new lens.Just as he said that, the operator cut him off (apparently she was listening), and told me, "he has no idea what he's talking about and you need to work through your retailer".I can't even begin to describe her tone with me.The tech was a good guy, but the operator clinched my decision with that company.

I finally did get an RMA # from Spytown...coincidently it was 4 days after disputing the charges with my credit card company.I sent the camera back, it's been a month now since they've had it.No word yet from Spytown.I don't expect one.

The shame of this entire situation is that for about one minute, I had an opportunity to resolve the entire issue by driving 10 minutes to the manufacturer, meet with the tech, and exchange the lens.Just mind blowing.

Cisco-Linksys WRT54G2 Wireless-G Broadband Router Review

(More customer reviews)This was very easy to set up. It took about 5 minutes total to set up the router and have a wireless connection to my desktop. I have an excellent reception to my desktop that sits about 30 feet away in another room. Also, I have my desktop and laptop (both running vista), xbox 360, and ps3 connected to it wirelessly. the xbox 360 NAT is open and the ps3 NAT is type 2. I'm not sure what that stuff means technically, but in normal person terms it means that I can connect to others with no problems. The back of the router has 4 10/100 ethernet connections on it as well if you want a wired connection.

The design of this router is really excellent. The antennas are built into the router and the dimensions of it are really small and thin! This gives you more flexibility of where the router can be placed.

Streaming recorded TV, music, and pictures from my desktop to xbox (using media center) work well for both being connected wireless with no reduction in picture quality.

With the release of the new Xbox 360 dashboard I am able to stream HD video from Netflix wirelessly through my 360 with this router. The wait time for video to start is short and the picture quality of HD shows like Heroes and 30 Rock is great.

*Update* I have had the 20" 2.66ghz iMac since May 08 and connecting it to my linksys was as simple as selecting the network and typing in my password. The router has been up and running several months now with no resets or connection issues. This is a very stable router that requires little to no maintenance. Now my connections to this router are a laptop with Vista every now and then, Mac with OS X 10.5, ps3, 360, and 2 iPhones. There are no problems when 2 or more devices are using the connection. I am connected to a 6mbps cable connection.

Recently I got the new unibody MacBook and an eyeTV hybrid 2009 model. I use it to record TV (mainly the HD shows sent via QAM from comcast) on my iMac. I want to stream a HD show like The Office from my iMac to my macbook that is connected my my 46" samsung (lnt-4665), but I have found that "g" is not fast enough to stream a show recorded in HD. It is fast enough to stream a show recorded in SD, so I need an "N" router if I want to stream wirelessly.

(More customer reviews)I was looking for a decent security system and I thought I found it with this product with 30 feet of night vision. when I hooked it up day time was ok but still had to make out faces when even 10 feet away night time forget about it can't see much of any thing.Within 2 weeks of recording the one camera I had set up started becoming very grainy at night and was imposable to see anything,so I change out the camera and it went back to normal which was still poor. couple of days later and the system started rebooting out of the blue and finaly the system could not detect the hard drive.which went bad in 3 weeks, not happy at all. Since the packaging has been thrown out ill get charged a restocking fee for a defectice product doesn't make since to me.
My recomendation to others spend a little more money on a seperate dvr and buy the better cameras maybe from a store where it will be easyer to return if you are not happy

It does have a lots of cool features, but falls short of "Central controller", but it is an awesome (sorry for repeating, but it it really IS awesome) iPhone/iPod-touch API with some additional functionality like simple timers.
You will not be able to execute any automation scripts, but it is great for simple schedules, and oh, camera support is such a nice touch.
So, if you won't pick on title, this device is totally deserves 5 stars.

Here's the review I gave it, regardless of vendor:

I've been quite unhappy with this unit.

The "manual" that came with it is written in the worst Chinese-mangled English I've ever seen.It's useless.The button functions do not match what's in the manual.

I finally figured out, by trial and error, how to make it record. You press and hold the bottom button for several seconds to get the blue LED to come on, then press and hold the top button for several seconds to get the blue LED to start blinking, indicating it's recording.

It also has problems stopping the recording.Again, strictly by trial and error, I've figured out that to make it stop recording, you press and hold the bottom button.The blue LED stops blinking.But then it often resumes blinking. Even shutting off the power switch does not cause it to stop blinking. I have to remove the power cord to get it to stop blinking.

The vendor has ignored my several voice mails and filling out their "support" forms, asking for help in making this thing work.

Other than the hugely obnoxious and inconvenient method of getting it to start and stop recording, it's not too bad. The videos it produces are small, but OK.

It's useless after dark, but during the day, it's ok.It lacks any time/date stamping, either on the video or on the files that get created.

(More customer reviews)We were given the Q-see baby monitor 2 camera pack as a holiday gift.

Only one of the cameras worked out of the box and it took weeks of phone calls and voice mails to get an RMA. They do not offer claim tag service, so I paid to ship the defective camera back to them.

When we finally received the replacement camera, it appears to be the same unit we sent to service, and it still doesn't work.

The one working camera locks up (No signal from camera) on a regular basis and must be unplugged and replugged to reset. As of this week, the IR lights quit working and also require a power cycle to work.

I can handle a few bumps in the road with technology, but the lack of QA combined with miserable customer service from DPS is just too much. Stay away from this company and it's products.

(More customer reviews)I've purchased this recently, and while it does have most of the listed functionality, there are a couple of issues too. The biggest issue is that there is no way to specify Daylight Savings Time, so for most of us in the US, you will have to go into settings twice a year and change to the correct time else all email, monitoring photographs and logs will show incorrect timing.
The second issue is that none of their manuals state what the default ip is. It is actually set to dhcp, but there is no way to figure that out upfront.
Also, that bright orange light which indicates when the camera is being accessed is, for most folks, an undesirable feature.
Other than that, (while I haven't tested all features yet) the camera seems to deliver as promised.

(More customer reviews)The hardest part of this review will be keeping it short when so many things are wrong with this product. I purchased a camera, a gateway, a wall plug module, and a motion detector.It was a 4 evening of fighting with the setup to get everything partially working. Then after two days everything quit working. I have to completely reconfigure all products. Then once again after a couple of days, I had the same problem. I spent more time reconfiguring only to have it happen a third time. Camera could not be found, the motion detector did not work and the web based software could not see the gateway.
During the time that the system was working, it was only partially working. Features like the motion detection of the camera and actions by the web based software was supposed to send me Email if an event was triggered. That never happened. Tech support was useless. Night time tech support takes you to a 3rd party tech support that can solve no problems and tells you that you have to call during the day.I call daytime and asked a simple question about what a field in the camera setup called "Split By" was supposed to do and they could not answer that and told me to send in email. And as you might guess my email was never answered. The only other answer I got from daytime tech was the server was having software problem wait until Monday. Well it did start working on Monday for 2 days.
So here are my complaints:
Bad Tech Support,
Server Software has problems,
Documentation is too brief.
All product that I purchased were unreliable,
Once configured, things will quit working and when you try to correct everything quits working.
Not all features would work at anytime.
I have quit, I am no longer trying to make these product work.

(More customer reviews)If you're on the go, whether on a bus, train, plane, or you're always in a different coffee shop with sturdy metal rods, and you worry about your iProduct security, then this will work just fine to protect it. The metal string is very thin, however, and could probably be cut with a good set of wire cutters, but, honestly, what common theif carries those around in his back pocket anyways? Maybe he/she has a pair of scissors, but, I tried that, and, that wasn't easy. Hopefully, by the time you notice them trying to cut through the wire, you'll have them punched in the face. Anyways...

Recommended for people who need on-the-go security for the iProducts.
NOT recommended for people who are at home most of the time and would probably need their dock port for something more useful, like battery charging.
